After I spent a week at Caballo Lake, I packed up and drove about 5 miles to Percha Dam State Park. This one was much smaller than Caballo, but fit my needs… The official website describes the park:
This quiet park along the Rio Grande is shaded by tall cottonwoods and provides excellent fishing, relaxing camping, and outstanding bird watching.

The temperatures were hot during my week’s stay here, but very low humidity even with the afternoon storms that developed and offered a few raindrops each day
There wasn’t a lot going on here, although I didn’t explore all the ‘amenities’ described.
