If you read about my quick stop to see the ‘VLA’ (Very Large Array) location in New Mexico, I probably should have added a quick stop at a quirky place also located on Highway 60 that I had heard others talk about. Pie Town.
It’s one that has been mentioned in publications touting ‘Odd Roadside Attractions’. You can get the overall description from New Mexico True. If you blink , you could miss it.
They hold their Annual Pie Festival the second Saturday of September, which falls on September 9th this year. You can find out more HERE.
Although I plan to remain in New Mexico for several more months, I’m not sure if I will be close enough to be able to attend, we’ll see. The elevation is around 8,000 ft, so while the temperatures will probably be milder than the places I’ve been staying lately, I still have to factor in my non-socialable 4 legged friend, Squirty.
