As much as I would love to live my life as a full-time RVer, my reality at the moment has me dividing my time between exploring, and maintaining a ‘sticks and bricks home. Each mode of living requires budgeting for all expenses. Each mode of lifestyle shares similar line items, however, the amounts necessary are obviously different.
On the road, I tow a small travel trailer with an SUV. The fuel expense during my travels far exceeds the dollars spent if I’m staying at my home base. That includes gasoline for my vehicle and the portable inverter/generator, plus propane for the heater, fridge, and stove
Home base eliminates the propane aspect and reduces the gasoline expenditures significantly, however, the electricity bill which is virtually non-existent on the road, is huge at home. In an effort to reduce those ghastly monthly power bills, we looked for an alternative to our kitchen appliances, specifically the electric stove/oven. We were doing a lot of baking the past few years, so the amount of time the oven was generating heat, translated to huge electric bills.
After hearing about the ‘Cosori’ line of products, we purchased their ‘Air Fryer Toaster Oven’ pictured below.
The settings include: TOAST, BAGEL, PIZZA, ROAST, BAKE, AIRFRY, BROIL, COOKIES, ROTISSERIE, DEHYDRATE, FERMENT, AND WARM. There is also a 100 recipe book that comes with all the accessories.
Using this countertop appliance for over four months now, we’ve seen our electricity usage reduced enough to have our ‘budget plan’ with the utility company lowered sufficiently to grade our purchase a big thumbs up.
The usage is lower because the time to cook the various dishes we enjoy is reduced from what the stove required. Less time cooking, and more savings in our bill.
If you have a large family, this 32 qt. capacity unit may not be large enough for your needs, but it’s fine for us. I will warn you that the sides of the appliance do get HOT when it’s doing its thing, but if you follow the instructions that come in the box, and use common sense, that shouldn’t be an issue.
For what it’s worth, I would recommend this product. If you click the picture above, it’s linked to Amazon. If you decide to purchase the product, you won’t pay any more, but I will receive a small commission. If you decide against buying, but stay on Amazon and buy something else, it also helps generate a small commission for us.
